A Little Bit About Head Coach Chris
Racing has been my passion since I was 7 years old. It has been a huge part of my life and in some ways even saved my life.
Throughout my career as an athlete I have raced in thousands of events, all over the world. My 2 years as a professional took me to Belgium for my neo-pro year allowing me to get my first taste of what that level looked like, and it was way harder than I had ever thought. My second year I signed with a domestic team, but still got to race in Europe for the World Championships with the military national team.
Once I decided to retire from the pro peloton I went back to the military (my second enlistment) and worked as a bomb squad team leader in Afghanistan with the Rangers.
I started coaching about 10 years ago. I took everything I learned from from racing for 20+ years and my formal education in kinesiology as well as several certifications and built my coaching philosophy. I coach very similarly to how I was coached in Belgium, starting with the base and building upon that as the season progresses. Each year then builds on each other, and using this system I have helped athletes achieve countless podiums across multiple sports (cycling, cyclocross, obstacle races, triathlon, and road and trail races) including a Spartan World Champion in 2019.
I truly love coaching, and seeing my athletes progress over the years. I use a total athlete concept that includes 3 pillars: physical training, mental training, and nutrition.
I can't wait to work with you and help you achieve your goals!
