Our Sporting Background

This is the first of many weekly posts that you will find here. As an athlete, I'm sure you've already read through the site a couple of times, you know the certifications and the testimonials, but you want to know more about your coach. Well, allow me to introduce myself.

I have spent the better part of my life in endurance sports. I started cycling when I was 7 at local BMX races. By the time I was a teenager I had switched to mountain bike races, and annoying the elite men in the process. By the time I graduated high school I had moved over to road racing.

I have raced almost every discipline you can on the bike. Road, mountain, cyclocross, BMX, if it had 2 wheels and went fast, I was all over it. I have also raced a few triathlons, duathlons, obstacle course races, trail races, etc. There's just something about training and competing in sports that take a long time to train for and to complete that I love.

After almost 20 years of racing bicycles, I ended up as a professional in Belgium for a season, and then switched to a domestic team for a year. I got to travel Europe and the US all while seeing it from 2 wheels. Those were the hardest, yet some of the most rewarding years of my life.

When I decided to start coaching, naturally I wanted to help athletes like myself. People who love the process, love the grind, and just flat out know how to suffer. That's where the #borninfire came from. If you have ever done a race, any race, you know how hard it can be. That burning in your legs, the pounding inyour chest, and the gasping for breath, we have all been defined by it, learned to embrace it, and we become born again.

There will be many more posts about various topics here, I hope this one gave you at least a small glimpse of me, your coach, mentor and friend.

Thank you for reading, and I can't wait to help you achieve your goals.

Even Coaches Need Coaches

I work with a cycling coach. Yeah, I know, I am one and I've been coaching athletes across a dozen different sports and disciplines for years. You'd think I should know how to coach myself right? Well

And So It Begins... 2022 Is Upon Us!

I know what you're thinking, another post about resolutions and goals, blah blah blah. In other places I've talked a lot about SMART goals, motivation goals, and all sorts of things. I'm not going to
